Individual Classroom Music
BEAR’s preschool includes music as part of your child’s classroom program. In addition to our daily songs, once a week our inspiring, energetic music teacher, "Miss Rainy," fills the classroom with joyous songs and motions. Music is a natural and important part of a young child's growth and development. Early interaction with music positively affects the quality of all children's lives. Successful experiences in music help all children bond emotionally and intellectually with others through creative expression in song, rhythmic movement, and listening experiences. Music in early childhood creates a foundation upon which future learning is built. Music education for young children involves a developmentally appropriate program of singing, moving, listening, creating, playing instruments, and responding to visual and verbal representations of sound.
Group Music
Group Music at BEARS is a fun time for the children. Once a week all the classes come together to sing, dance, and do fingerplays in a large group. The children enjoy singing new songs, familiar songs, and familiar songs with new lyrics. We always have live music and plenty of creative movements with all of our songs and fingerplays.
Music Performances
Our school performs two fantastic concerts every school year in the sanctuary; one at Christmas time and one in the Spring. It's amazing to see all the children have learned in their music classes, and the video recordings from these performances are packed with truly priceless memories!
