Enrichment Classes
Enrichment classes are a wonderful supplement to your child's learning experience at BEARS. This extended time allows our extra-creative teacher to have lunch with the children, then have fun as they explore different topics together. 4 and 5-year-olds can register to attend one enrichment class per week and each session lasts 5 weeks.
In the five-week-session, "Knights and Princesses of the BEARS Kingdom," students learned about castles, princesses, knights, dragons, royal table manners, and they even built catapults (with careful supervison, of course).
Another session covered, "My Five Senses," and students enjoyed the hands-on experiences learning about their senses. When learning about taste, they sampled something sour, sweet, bitter and salty. They talked about making sure that lunch offers a rainbow of flavors. The class will made a snack mix with the different tastes, and discussed the food pyramid.
The "In the Laboratory" session taught students about well-known scientists. Students performed experiments with static electricity, gravity, light reflections and even a balloon that inflated by itself!!
